The Greatest Books Ever. Or At Least For The Week.
Latest & greatest idea: write the great American Murder Mystery-except make the setting & job of main character diff. from hosp., law office, newsroom, etc. My story’ll be about operator of a bumper car attraction-good. Bad: evil bumper car who bumps people so hard they flip & splat on the floor or end up rolling down the bushes on the hill & into the bucket, which they ...

No Need For Nostradamus
Forget all the prognostications about when the end of the world will come, 2012, etc. The only sign we’ll need for the beginning of the Apocalypse is the election of Michelle Bachmann to the office of President. Anyone know of an Apocalypse-appropriate emergency preparedness kit in existence?

Wisconsin union law published despite court order →
So first the awful Wisconsin union law is passed. Then it’s published despite a court order prohibiting it. Then the possibility arises that the law could go into effect anyway, despite the disregard for the court order. What’s wrong with Wisconsin Republicans? Oh, that’s right - everything.

Health Reform: A Phone Call from the President |... →
This is the kind of guy our President is. :) One year ago today, health care reform was signed into law, and a lot of people had a lot more hope. Hope for good care. Hope for being able to get individual insurance coverage despite having “preexisting conditions.” Hope that people will stop their judgment and agree that everyone has a right to good health care. Hope for the future.

The Bug Whisperer
I just watched this show on how bugs and parasites can be used to determine the time of death in murder cases. Now, if that doesn’t beat all. Someone really should tell the insects of their importance in solving such cases. It would help them feel needed and have good self-esteem. Especially when they live such short lives. Kind of like a Bug Whisperer, you know? PS: That person will not...

Sorry: this is a bit long and the format is a little funny, but this info is true. The title is pretty self-explanatory, and further explanation is below. These people have too few scruples and too much time on their hands. :( VISA/MasterCard Fraud alert »>...

“Last week’s devastating earthquake and tsunami in Japan has actually moved the island closer to the United States and shifted the planet’s axis. Five Things Unions Have Done For Americans →
Think Progress has a report on some of the things unions, in both the public and private sector, have done for middle class Americans. 1. Unions Gave Us The Weekend: Even the ultra-conservative Mises Institute notes that the relatively labor-free 1870, the average workweek for most Americans was 61 hours — at the relatively labor-free 1870, the average workweek for most Americans was 61 hours...

So researchers say the Eastern Cougar is no more. But hunters (how did I know?) say that that’s not true. They’ve seen them, you see. Nevermind that when they saw their cougars they knew right away...

Unions aren't to blame for Wisconsin's budget →
wilwheaton: Let’s be clear: Whatever fiscal problems Wisconsin is — or is not — facing at the moment, they’re not caused by labor unions. That’s also true for New Jersey, for Ohio and for the other states. There was no sharp rise in collective bargaining in 2006 and 2007, no major reforms of the country’s labor laws, no dramatic change in how unions organize. And yet, state budgets collapsed....
